Frederick Man Guilty Of Sexually Abusing 1-Year-Old

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Prosecutors are seeking an 18-year prison term for a Frederick man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 1-year-old boy.

The Frederick News-Post reports that Ryan Sheppard, 19, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree sex offense. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 25.

Sheppard was charged in June with first-degree sex offense and other crimes for inflicting injuries that required surgical repair.

Assistant State’s Attorney Lindell Angel says the state would not oppose a recommendation to send Sheppard to the Patuxent Institution, a mental-health treatment center for state prison inmates.

Sheppard’s father says he turned his son in and advised him to plead guilty so he could get help.

Police say Sheppard admitted he sexually abused the boy and also acknowledged he has looked at child pornography.

  • d glen burnie

put him in general population and spread the word of what he did. even the a holes in prison don’t like child molesters . he won’t last long.

  • Over-Protective Mom ?

ANY person that harms a child should get life and be put in general population with the word being spread about what he or she has done. Life without the possiblity of parole. Laws are too easy on them fools they took a life from a child. That child won’t ever be normal again . I don’t care how much counsel the child is given. What a child learns from birth to the age of 3 is what will help shape them into who they will become. I send prayers to the child and the family. Also where was mom ? My opinion is anybody ever harms my children they will be clinging to life and praying for death to come for them soon and that the Lord have mercy on their soul because I will skin them alive and cover them in a blanket of alcohol and salt .
