Hassan, Savannah State Beats Morgan State 57-55

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- Rashad Hassan scored 15 points, including the game-winning dunk, to lift Savannah State past Morgan State 57-55 on Monday night.

The Tigers (7-9, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored 23 points off 23 Morgan State turnovers. Morgan State was playing without coach Todd Bozeman, who was suspended without pay earlier Monday after an alleged physical altercation with one of his players during Saturday's win against South Carolina State.

The Bears (3-10, 1-1), who led by as many as seven in the second half, took a 55-52 advantage on Ian Chiles' 3 with 2:04 remaining.

Chiles, who was fouled on the play, missed the ensuing free throw.

Preston Blackmon then made a 3-pointer for the Tigers to tie it, 55-55, with 1:52 left.

The Bears wasted the following offensive opportunity as DeWayne Jackson turned it over and Hassan dunked it on the other end.

Jackson led the Bears with 23 points.
