Rams Head, 1st Mariner Have Strong Concert Season

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Two Baltimore concert venues had great years despite a national trend in poor ticket sales.

The Baltimore Sun reports that in 2011 both 1st Mariner Arena and Rams Head Live beat their ticket sales numbers from the previous year. According to the trade magazine Pollstar, ticket sales dropped around the rest of the country.

Billboard Magazine, meanwhile named 1st Mariner as the top-selling arena of its size. It hosted Elton John.

Among the acts featured at Rams Head Live was pop singer Robyn.
