BALTIMORE (AP) -- Prince Okoroh scored 14 points as Howard defeated Morgan State 54-46 Monday night in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Simuel Frazier added nine points for the Bison (6-18, 3-8), who had lost their past eight games against the Bears (5-16, 3-7).

Howard outscored Morgan State 14-6 over the final 5:11, getting 11 of those points on free throws.

Okoroh gave the Bison a 30-25 lead with two layups at the start of the second half. After two Morgan State free throws, Bears coach Todd Bozeman substituted for his entire lineup.

Morgan State led 39-35 with 8:55 remaining before Howard came back for a 40-40 tie.

Both teams struggled with their second-half shooting, Howard making 26.1 percent (6 of 23) and Morgan State 15 percent (3 of 20).

DeWayne Jackson led Morgan State with 10 points, all in the first half. He did not play after the early second-half substitutions.
