Victim's Brother Barred From Trial For Murder
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A judge has granted a protective order against the brother of a slaying victim after he allegedly threatened a defense attorney.
Carroll County Circuit Judge Michael Galloway granted the order Feb. 2 against Jacob DeMario. He is the brother 26-year-old Jeremiah DeMario, who was stabbed to death in September 2010.
The Carroll County Times reports that the order bars DeMario from being in or around the courthouse on any
day there is a hearing or trial in the case. DeMario is also ordered to keep 100 yards away from Brian DeLeonardo.
DeLeonardo represents 24-year-old Russell Laderer, who is charged with first- and second-degree murder in Jeremiah DeMario's death.
According to the motion for the protective order, DeMario got into an argument with DeLeonardo in a store on Feb. 1.
