Proposed National Harbor Casino Worries D.C. Lottery

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) — A billion-dollar casino being proposed by Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker for the National Harbor development is worrying the District of Columbia’s lottery and gaming board.

Board Director Buddy Roogow tells The Washington Examiner the impact of a major casino along the Potomac River would be “substantial.” He says people would likely divide their gambling dollars. While they would still buy lottery
tickets, they would also cross into Maryland to play slots and table games.

The casino proposal comes after the D.C. Council repealed a bill that legalized Internet gaming last month. There were accusations it was slipped into a budget bill at the last minute.

Councilmember Michael Brown says he plans to reintroduce legislation for Internet gambling.

    So nice…………..

Table games in Maryland ? I’ll believe it when I see it.

And I’ll bet even this new casino will not be allowed to serve free alcoholic drinks, just like the casino in Perryville (and the new casino at Arundal Mills). New Jersey wins, Maryland loses (again).

If anyone wants me, I’ll be in Jersey at the Trump, spending the money I would have spent in Maryland if O’Malley wasn’t such an arrogant horse’s behind.
