Charge Against Ex-Official Put On Inactive Docket

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A charge against a former Wicomico County state's attorney has been put on the inactive docket.

Davis Ruark, 56, had been charged in October with violating a court order by contacting a woman he had dated.

The charge, which was amended to failure to comply with a peace order, will remain on the inactive docket for six months. The prosecutor can ask that it be removed, and Ruark can have the offense expunged.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that Ruark's lawyer said Monday they were pleased with the disposition.

Ruark has accepted a position as a senior assistant district attorney in New Mexico.
