Assault Suspect Arrested After Police Stand-Off

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An assault suspect has been arrested after a stand-off with police.

Police say they arrested a man at a home in the 3500-block of Edgewood Road around 9 a.m. Saturday after he refused to talk to police following an alleged assault Friday night. He had barricaded himself inside the home for hours, causing traffic to be re-routed and nearby streets to be closed.

Police say there was a party at that location Friday evening. After an argument, police say the suspect got a gun and fired at least two shots. No one at the party was shot, but two people were hurt by debris. Everyone fled except for the suspect.

The man was arrested Saturday morning on assault and related charges.
