PG Councilwoman Apologizes For Speeding Incident
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County councilwoman who has been charged with reckless driving says she's sorry.
Karen Toles apologized for the incident in a brief news conference Wednesday outside her attorney's office in Largo. She
declined to take questions from reporters.
Toles asked residents not to judge her based on news reports of the Feb. 22 traffic stop. She asked for respect and patience while the legal process runs its course.
Toles initially received a ticket for an unsafe lane change and was given a warning for speeding. However, after an investigation police charged her with a more serious reckless driving charge.
