Anne Arundel College Chooses Next President

ARNOLD, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel Community College has chosen its sixth president.

Officials say Dawn Lindsay will replace President Martha A. Smith on Aug. 1. Smith announced last year that she would retire after 18 years on the job.

Lindsay has been president of Glendale Community College in California since 2009, and is a commissioner for the American Association of Community Colleges.

Lindsay earned a doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University, a master's degree in educational counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology. She earned a bachelor's degree in social work from McDaniel College in Westminster.
