MMA In Baltimore

John Rallo of Ground Control Academy and Shogun Fights promised that Saturday night would an exciting evening while appearing on The Norris & Davis Show Friday morning.  He delivered.  Our city often makes headlines for all the wrong reasons but last night was something special.  Something to be proud of.

Who would have thought fighting could be so friendly?  A festive crowd of around 6,000 MMA fans attended Shogun Fights VI at 1st Mariner Arena.  The event showcases top fighters from many of the regions premier mixed martial arts organizations, including Ground Control.

Congratulations to all the fighters - win or lose.  The skill level that this area is presenting is amazing.  Although not everyone's evening ended the way they had hoped or dreamed, there were no 'tomato cans' or dud fights last night.  Eleven solid bouts enjoyed by all, including: Ravens WR Torrey Smith and former UFC Welterweight Matt 'The Terror' Serra among others.

It was a great night that solidly placed the eyes of the MMA world squarely on the top talent of Baltimore.  Thanks, Mr. Rallo.
