Prince George's Man Arrested After Machete Attack

SUITLAND, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a Prince George's County man has been arrested for trying to kill another man with a machete during an argument.

The Prince George's County sheriff's office says Eddie Ivey, of Upper Marlboro, Md., was arrested Tuesday for allegedly attacking and hitting another man in the head with the large knife on April 10 in Suitland.

According to court records, charges against Ivey, 49, include attempted first-degree and second-degree murder, first-degree and second-degree assault and intent to injure with a deadly weapon.

Ivey is being held without bond at the Prince George's Department of Corrections.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month.
