Algae Bloom Turns Inner Harbor Water Brown

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--There's a growing problem in the Inner Harbor.

An algae bloom is turning the water brown.

It happens every year around this time in the Chesapeake Bay.

Heavy rain over the weekend washed fertilizer and other waste into the bay.

The algae bloom can kill fish because it sucks the oxygen out of the water.
