Md. Woman Gets Probation In W.Va. For Arson Plea

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Maryland woman will spend five years on probation after pleading no contest in West Virginia to arson and threat charges.

Media outlets report that Ashley R. Shreve of Oakland, Md., entered her plea Monday in Berkeley County Circuit Court.

Judge Christopher C. Wilkes gave the 30-year-old lawyer suspended sentences for second-degree arson and conveying a false bomb threat. Wilkes placed Shreve on probation, and ordered her to pay restitution.

Prosecutors say Shreve set a fire at a Martinsburg law firm where she formerly worked in 2007. She also was accused of threatening to bomb a nearby insurance firm.

Shreve was arrested in 2010 in Henrico County, Va.
