Police: 5 People Killed In Recent Days In D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- District of Columbia police say five people have been killed since Saturday in separate homicides.

Police say the two most recent fatal stabbings occurred Tuesday morning.

Police Commander George Kucik says one man, Dwayne Edward Brisbon, was found fatally stabbed early Tuesday inside his car at 5th Street and Florida Avenue in northwest. Kucik says Brisbon, of Upper Marlboro, Md., was stabbed during an argument after exiting his car.

He says Brisbon tried to drive away but couldn't, crashing his car and dying of his injuries at a hospital.

He says there's no indication that the stabbing is connected to other homicides.

The other killing Tuesday occurred in the 1600-block of Kenilworth Avenue, in northeast, where police say they found Lamont Antonio Devore suffering from multiple stab wounds.
