BALTIMORE (WJZ)– The Baltimore Orioles have placed outfielder Endy Chavez on the disabled list on Wednesday for 15 days after a left oblique strain.

The 34-year-old signed a one-year contract as a free agent on Dec. 20, 2011.

The team has also recalled right-handed pitcher Tommy Hunter from the minor league Norfolk Tides.

Hunter, 25, is 2-1 with a 5.00 ERA in six starts this season. The Orioles did not state a reason for recalling him.
