HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — The Maryland Park Service says registration has ended for a statewide contest that involves
visiting state parks.

It took less than two hours Monday for 1,000 teams to register for the fifth season of Park Quest 2012.

The teams must include at least one adult and are limited to 10 people.

The game is a sort of a giant scavenger hunt. But instead of finding items, players take part in designated outdoor activities.

Teams that complete at least 10 of the 23 quests become eligible for a September rendezvous where they can win prizes such as kayaks, camping gear, vacation packages and bicycles.
