Police Identify Man Killed By Police In Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. (AP) -- Police in Baltimore have released the identity of a 31-year-old man fatally shot by police after he apparently reached for an officer's gun.

Police said Sunday that the man's name is Maurice Holloman. Police said he was fatally shot Saturday after he attacked an officer and reached for the man's weapon.

The shooting occurred late Saturday afternoon as two officers were responding to a call about a potentially mentally troubled man at a residence in the city's Belair-Edison neighborhood. Police say Holloman attacked one officer, who fell into a glass table.

When Holloman attempted to grab that officer's gun, the other officer shot him.
