BALTIMORE (WJZ) —  A giant has fallen. That’s just one way Rev. Marion Bascom is being remembered.

The civil rights giant passed away of a heart attack.

Bascom was pastor of Douglas Memorial Community Church for 46 years.

He was a leader in the founding of Associated Black Charities and Baltimore’s first black fire commissioner.

Bascom was 87 years old.
