HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A Hagerstown woman is recovering from burns sustained during a two-alarm house fire this week.

A hospital spokeswoman at Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center says Donna Delosier’s condition was upgraded from critical to fair on Thursday.

City spokeswoman Erin Wolfe says investigators believe the fire on North Cannon Avenue started in the basement, but a cause has not been determined. The Wednesday morning blaze caused the roof of the home to cave in.

Wolfe says Delosier was outside the home when fire crews arrived, but ran back inside to try to save some of her pets. She says Delosier saved two dogs, but several other pets had not been found.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that neighbors found a missing dog under the rubble Thursday.
