Washington Co. To Buy House, Land For Bypass
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Board of Commissioners have voted to buy a home and land for the Funkstown bypass.
The board voted 4-0 Tuesday to buy the property on Frederick Street in Hagerstown for the project, formally called Southern Boulevard. The purchase will cost $105,000, which will come from the county's capital improvement project.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that once construction starts on the boulevard, it will take a year to 18 months to complete.
