Md. Schools Superintendent Finalist For Pa. Job
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County schools Superintendent William Hite Jr. is one of two finalists to be superintendent for the School District of Philadelphia.
The School Reform Commission for the School District of Philadelphia announced Friday that Hite is a finalist for the position. Hite began serving as interim superintendent in Prince George's County in December 2008 and became the permanent superintendent in April 2009. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and
received a master's degree from the University of Virginia. He earned a doctorate from Virginia Tech.
The other finalist for the position is Pedro Martinez, the deputy superintendent in Clark County, Nev.
