Prince George's Firefighter Suffers Burns On Small Area Of Body

MOUNT RAINIER, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County firefighter is recovering from minor burns sustained while fighting a house fire.

Fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the flames broke out around 3 a.m. Sunday at an uninhabited two-story house in the Mount Ranier area.

Firefighters were forced to battle the flames from outside when conditions became too dangerous.

One firefighter suffered burns to a small area of his body. He was taken to the burn center at Washington Hospital Center, where he was treated and released.

The fire was under control within about an hour. The cause is under investigation.
