BALTIMORE STANDING TOGETHER: Watch town hall Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on WJZ, as leaders address issues the city is facing.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)– Anne Arundel County Police responded to a report of a bicyclist hit by a car early Sunday morning.

Police say Stephen Eugene Shenefiel, 64, was biking southbound on Ridge Road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene.

When officers arrived, they found the bicycle lying in the roadway and saw Shenefiel in the woods down an embankment. Shenefiel had sustained serious life threatening injuries.

Investigation has revealed that the car involved in the accident is a pre-1993 Nissan, appearing to be light silver or light grey in color, possibly with pearl in the paint.
