HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Extreme heat forecasts are prompting Hagerstown city officials to shorten the hours of an outdoor farmers’ market.

The city says Thursday’s Market Faire in the downtown square will be open from 9 a.m. to noon instead of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The city cites a National Weather Service heat advisory. The weather service is predicting a high near 100 in the western
Maryland city.

The market features fresh produce, flowers and more.
