This is a question for you guys. Given that Michael Phelps now holds the record for the most Olympic medals in history should a statue be erected in Baltimore perhaps by the National Aquarium?
We complain loudly that so much of the national attention we get as a city is negative maybe we should take advantage of an historic figure like Phelps.
I think if it were to be done it should be done soon because although he is very young to have such an honor bestowed his career will be over at the end of these Olympic games and the memory of what he has accomplished will be less fresh.
So my question is this… Would you be in favor of a statue for Michael Phelps in Baltimore if no public funds were used?
