Md. Man Not Criminally Responsible In Bank Robbery

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A man who had been released from a mental health facility was found guilty but not criminally responsible for bank robbery.

Andrew Schultz, 30, of Frederick received the verdict Tuesday. His lawyer says he has been committed to the custody of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Police say Shultz walked into the SunTrust Bank on Market Street on March 9, handed the teller a note demanding money and ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Relatives tell The News-Post of Frederick that Schultz's mental health and addiction problems prevented him from making the right decision.
