PASADENA, Md. (AP) — A woman whose body was found in the woods behind a shopping center has been identified, and Anne Arundel County police say she was a homicide victim.
Police identified the woman on Friday as Jessica Lynn Lee, 20, of Brooklyn Park. She had been missing since May. Her body was identified through DNA comparison.
Her body was found earlier this month after a man told police he was walking in the woods when he saw what appeared to be a human skull. A search team recovered additional remains.
Lee’s mother, Ann Burke, says she doesn’t know who would have wanted to harm her daughter. Burke is now caring for Lee’s 16-month-old daughter.
