Man Falls 60 Feet In Abandoned Plant In Dundalk

DUNDALK, Md. (AP) -- A Baltimore County fire official says a 19-year-old man fell about 60 feet from a catwalk in an abandoned plant in Dundalk over the weekend.

Fire spokesman Capt. C. Ross Cooke tells The Baltimore Sun that emergency crews were called to the old Joseph E. Seagram & Sons bottling plant in the 7100-block of Sollers Point Road about 3:50 p.m. Sunday by the man's friend.

The man was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in critical condition.

Cooke says it appeared the catwalk "gave way" as the men were walking along it.

He says he did not know why the men were in the plant.
