MIDDLE RIVER, Md. (WJZ)—The search for a missing boater has become a recovery operation. The operation has been suspended for the evening but will resume Wednesday morning.
Baltimore County Fire Department received a call Tuesday afternoon for a missing person in the area of Frog Mortar Creek in Middle River.
The Coast Guard requested Baltimore County to send a rescue team. The Department of Natural Resources resumed command of the operation.
Rescuers say several people went into the water. Two were pulled out, but the body of one is still missing.
Two of the individuals were swimming when they became separated from their boat. The missing boater entered the water in an attempt to assist the two swimmers and also got separated from the boat.
Two of the individuals were rescued by a good Samaritan and were transferred to the Coast Guard crew.
