Baltimore Police Officer Shoots Pit Bull To Stop Mauling

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A Baltimore City police officer shoots a pit bull as it was mauling a woman. The woman is now in the hospital with serious injuries to her abdomen.

The incident happened at 3 p.m. in the 1600-block of East Pratt Street. Fire crews first noticed the woman from a distance who looked like she was having a seizure. As one of the crew members got closer to her, he realized that she was being mauled by a pit bull.

The fire crew alerted a nearby police officer who shot the dog.
