ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — The Montgomery County Board of Education has approved plans for $14.5 million in technology upgrades for schools across the district.

The Washington Post reports the plan includes providing interactive whiteboards for 2,000 elementary classrooms. Secondary schools have already received funding to put the whiteboards in 65 percent of its classrooms.

The plan would also equip 101 elementary schools and 14 high schools with wireless technology. All middle schools and the rest of the county’s high schools already have wireless networks.

The plan was approved last week and will now go before the county council.
