BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Baltimore police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that injured two people.

Police say the accident happened on Sept. 16 at 12:40 a.m. when a 56-year-old woman and 66-year-old man were walking at a crosswalk between the 1100 and 1200-blocks of Freemont Avenue when they were hit by a four-door silver sedan, the impact of which threw the victims 70 feet in the air.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Police say the driver was an African-American male about 30 years old. They add that the vehicle should have front-end damage as a result of the hit-and-run accident. It was last seen in the Pennsylvania Avenue corridor.

Both victims were transported to Shock Trauma where the woman remains in critical condition with massive head trauma and a pelvic and a leg fracture. The male victim was treated for minor cuts.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to call Baltimore Police at 410-396-2606.
