Frederick Launches Recycling Photo Contest

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County solid-waste managers are offering a grand prize worth $800 for the best photo promoting recycling.

The contest started Monday and ends Oct. 19.

The photos must include at least one of the county's blue recycling carts.

The contest is called, "Put It in the Blue."

County officials will select the grand prize winner and the best submission by a photographer under age 13.

Then they'll post all the entries on Facebook for online community voting for a "People's Choice" winner.
