ELDERSBURG, Md. (WJZ)– A 35-year-old man has died after a collision with another vehicle at an intersection in Eldersburg.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said Leif Erik Foerter was driving a Jeep Wrangler going west on Piney Ridge Parkway when the vehicle hit a Honda Accord going north on Johnsonville Road. Foerter was ejected out of his vehicle on impact from the collision. He transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries where he died.

The driver of the Honda Accord was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office says that speed was a factor in the crash but alcohol was not. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to call 410-386-5900.
