Army Veteran Guilty Of Trying To Kill Girlfriend

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq has pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the beating of his girlfriend.

Thirty-year-old Jarob Walsh entered the plea Thursday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. He faces up to 30 years in prison at sentencing on Nov. 5.

Prosecutors say Walsh returned home On Dec. 10 after going to a bar, hit his girlfriend in the face with a curtain rod, and beat kicked and stomped her. The Capital in Annapolis reports that the woman was treated for multiple injuries, including a broken nose and broken orbital.
