3 Men Arrested In Anne Arundel Co. Shooting

MILLERVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- Police in Anne Arundel County arrested three men in connection to the shooting of an unidentified victim.

On Friday around 4 p.m, officers responded to a reported shooting near Old Mill Road and Veterans Highway. They were told a person shot at a man who was running toward a nearby fast food restaurant. Authorities were also given details about a vehicle potentially involved in the incident.

An officer spotted a vehicle that matched the description on Veterans Highway near Crain Highway and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver drove away before the officer reached his car.

The vehicle headed toward Green Leaf Terrace and two passengers fled the vehicle on foot. The driver was immediately apprehended and the passengers were found soon after.

The handgun believed to be used during the shooting was found in a wooded area nearby.

Dwight Herbert Howard, a 23-year-old from Severn, was charged with a handgun violation and disorderly conduct.

Jonathan Dean Hunter, a 22-year-old also from Severn, was charged with handgun-related offenses.

David Casey Howard, a 29-year-old from Glen Burnie, was charged with traffic-related violations.

The victim or victims did not come forward and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
