Guidance Counselor Who Tackled Perry Hall HS Shooter Throws Out First Pitch At O's Game

BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP)-- An emotional first pitch starts off the Orioles game.

A guidance counselor who disarmed a student gunman at Perry Hall High School and prevented further violence threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the game.

Jesse Wasmer was accompanied by Daniel Borowy, the one student who was wounded in the shooting in the Perry Hall High School cafeteria on Aug. 27.

Borowy was shot in the back by another student in the school cafeteria. Wasmer bravely tackled the gunman, and no one else was hurt.

The accused shooter, Robert Gladden Jr., is being charged as an adult.
