WEATHER BLOG: Hello Sunshine!

Sunshine has returned, thanks to a cold front moving through the Mid-Atlantic. The front has kicked up the winds and mixed up the atmosphere, allowing morning drizzle and fog to give way to some sunshine Wednesday afternoon. The front has also turned winds from the east around to the southwest, bringing warmer air our way. Highs are up closer to the average of 69 degrees. However, another shot of cool air is following the front and will arrive Thursday with highs back in the low 60s.

There is another front that is going to swing through on Friday. But with such dry air on top of us, we will only see some clouds from that front. Otherwise, dry air is going to dominate the forecast through the weekend - with an up and down of temperatures. Highs will get stuck in the 60s Friday with the front coming through, and drop temperatures to the upper 30s/near 40 for Saturday morning. If you are participating or going to cheer on someone at the running festival, you will need to dress warmly. Then, temperatures head back above average and into the low 70s by the end of the weekend.

The next storm system will move our way Monday or Tuesday with some clouds and the chance for showers.
