Glenn Younes: The Shock Of Suggs

The shock of Suggs Sunday playing is enough to distract me from the week 7 debacle down in Houston.

A Ravens 43-13 loss to the Texans was ugly but almost predictable. One could have added the injuries, close wins, travel away from M&T Bank Stadium and a terrible run defense and might have come up with a Baltimore beat. One could not have ever really imagined number 55 on the field in October following Achilles' tendon surgery in early May.

Yes, there are many items to fix for the Ravens, including: offense being able to travel, flow of run game, run defense, pass rush, o-line etc but the help Suggs brings is tremendous. He gives a huge layer of help with depth up front, adds to the pass rush, or at least the threat of it, that is much needed. Terrell Suggs adds maybe the biggest piece needed,  a way to get to the QB.  It's the new age "gotta run the ball well" as a must have ingredient to win in today's NFL.

I'll not be able to fully explain my surprise seeing Suggs play and do it well Sunday.  I give all parties involved from Suggs to the doctors, trainers, team and media that made this happen, a huge congrats and a well done. A ton of credit to all.

The idea of a 5 month 2 week comeback is insane, but in the world of a dude that's more freak than normal I guess it's as sane as he is.
