BRUNSWICK, Md. (AP) — The Frederick County Animal Welfare League will says it will trap, spay or neuter, and vaccinate about 60 feral cats in Brunswick.

The project, detailed at Tuesday’s City Council meeting, will take months to complete.

Barbara Wratten, feral cat coordinator at the league, is hoping residents who feed the animals will help trap them. The league will supply traps and have veterinarians available to make appointments for vaccinations.

The News-Post of Frederick reports that the league received a $5,500 grant from the Best Friends Animal Society to do work in the Brunswick area. Wratten said if people feeding the cats chip in about $15 for each cat, the grant money would cover more of the animals.

The average veterinary fees are about $65 for each cat.
