BGE Urges Customers To Prepare For Possible Outages Ahead Of Hurricane Sandy

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) has announced that it is preparing for any possible power outages this weekend and into early next week in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

BGE said that it conducts regular emergency training drills when storm-related power restoration is tested.

The utility also urged customers-- particularly the elderly, physically challenged or those dependent on electricity for running their medical equipment-- to have an emergency plan in place in case of an outage. BGE recommends residents make alternative arrangements in case they would need to leave their homes, make a list of emergency phone numbers and keeping it on hand, and building an emergency kit to prepare for extended outages.

BGE says customers can call 877-778-2222 to report outages or go to its website by clicking here for more information on emergency storm preparation.
