Baltimore Police Arrest More Than 270 Suspects Wanted On Priority Warrants

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested more than 270 people in a week long initiative, targeting suspects with open arrest warrants and criminal histories of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and armed robbery.

"The results of this warrant effort are a testament to the hard working men and women of the Baltimore Police Department who put their lives on the line each day to make this city safer," Police Commissioner Anthony Batts said. "We will continue our focus on improving public safety and targeting individuals who are responsible for committing acts of violence in our community."

During the initiative, which ended on Wednesday, the task force also served more than 50 warrants on suspects who were already in prison on unrelated charges.
