ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Police are identifying a contractor who was killed by a falling tree in Annapolis while removing debris from Superstorm Sandy.

Anne Arundel County police said Thursday that family members identified the man as Santiago Lopez, 50, of Annapolis. He was originally from Mexico.

Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy tells The Baltimore Sun that Lopez was part of a crew from W.D. Olsen Tree Care working to remove fallen trees in a waterfront community near the Bay Bridge.
