3 Killed In Harford County Crash
STREET, Md. (WJZ) -- Three people were killed and two more injured in a car accident in Street.
The car accident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say a car went off the road around Prospect Road and Mill Green Road. When police arrived, they found the car had broken into two pieces. Half was in a deep ravine and about 100 feet from the other half. Police believe the driver lost control and the car became airborne and struck a tree.
Police say the five victims range from their late teens into early 20s. A man and woman survived the accident and were taken to Shock Trauma; they have been identified as Theresa M. Owensby, 19, and David E. Clark, 21. Two men and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Tyler G. Anderson, 21, Shawn R. Ponton, 21, and Alexzandria O. McDowell, 20.
The cause of the accident is under investigation but police believe speed may have played a factor in the crash.
