REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) — Baltimore County Police identify the body of a missing man in Reisterstown.

Officers found the remains of Darnell Butler, 24, early Saturday morning in a wooded area near Hanover Pike and Butler Road. Butler was reported missing to Baltimore City Police on Sept. 17.

Investigators say a hand found earlier in the week nearby belongs to the body that was later found.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has now ruled the death a suicide. A handgun was recovered on scene, and the cause of death is a gunshot wound.
