KENT ISLAND, Md. (WJZ) — An accident has snarled traffic on the Bay Bridge.

The accident occurred on the westbound span of the Bay Bridge, close to Kent Island.

One westbound lane is still open. Traffic heading to the western shore is backed up for miles. Traffic going to the Eastern Shore is moving normally.

People are asked to avoid the area if possible.
