Evening Closures Announced On Rt. 301 For Nov. 26 & Nov. 27

QUEENSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) -- The State Highway Administration announced evening traffic closures on US 301 near Rt. 50. Traffic will be detoured on Nov. 26 and 27 from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m.

The first nighttime detour will be for traffic traveling on northbound US 301 on Nov. 26. The second nighttime detour will be for traffic traveling on southbound US 301 on Nov. 27.

The Monday night detour for northbound US 301 traffic will direct motorists to continue on eastbound US 50 to a left on northbound MD 213, and return to US 301. The Tuesday night detour will divert southbound US 301 traffic to a left on to MD 456 (Del Rhodes Avenue) to access westbound US 50. Motorists will then travel across the bridge under construction and connect with southbound US 301.

Immediately after the Christmas and New Year holidays, work will begin on the second half of the bridge. Motorists will be shifted onto the first half of the new bridge deck while the second half is removed and replaced. The entire bridge rehabilitation project is scheduled to be complete April 2013.
