Police: Mother, Daughter From Md. Die In Pa. Crash
WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) -- Authorities in western Pennsylvania say two people killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer are a mother and daughter from Maryland.
State police identified the victims on Sunday as Kaitlin Babka, 21, and Karen Babka, 57. Both are from Hughesville, Md.
The accident happened Saturday on Interstate 70 in South Strabane Township. Investigators say the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of the vehicle while traveling westbound.
Police say the rig crossed the median, flipped over and skidded into eastbound traffic, crushing the Babkas' car.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Yevgeniy Bugreyev, 44, of West Sacramento, Calif., is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.
He remained in custody Sunday. Court documents did not list an attorney.
