Edgewater Woman Critical After Being Struck By Car

EDGEWATER, Md. (AP) — Anne Arundel County police say a 51-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Edgewater.

Police say the accident happened Wednesday at 6:19 p.m. on East Central Avenue near West Shore Road.

Police say Susan Blanchard Harris ran into the roadway and was struck by a 62-year-old Stevensville man, Michael Joseph Maszczenski Jr., who was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Police say “pedestrian error” is to blame for the crash.

Harris was flown by helicopter to a hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
